HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Some significant traffic improvements are happening on Oahu.
First, traffic delineators were installed along Leoku Street on Waipahu starting at 7:30 a.m. Sunday to aid bike and pedestrian safety.
Volunteers with the Hawaii Bicycling League completed the work.
Work wrapped up by about 9:30 a.m.
But that’s not all for the area. Local artist Zach Angeles will be painting a street mural at the site next weekend.
Additionally, you’ll soon notice a change if you drive down Ala Moana Boulevard.
A new green arrow light is being installed at the Kamakee Street intersection, allowing a right turn onto Ala Moana westbound.
Right turns are currently not allowed on red.
Work will be done overnight this coming Tuesday and Wednesday.
A lane of Ala Moana will be closed while crews work.
Lastly, here is a First Alert heads-up for drivers going through Downtown Honolulu.
HECO crews will be out Monday and Tuesday at Alakea Street for underground utility work.
It’ll close the right Mauka-bound lane between Ala Moana and Queen Street near the Harbor Square condos.
Work hours will be from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
